ROLE SUMMARY:
Responsible for all Engineering aspects related to Integrated Solutions RFID products and solutions. Design, testing and calibration of rugged RFID tags. Responsible for all product development and program management activities. Lead benchmarking of competitive products. Direct involvement in testing and validation of finished RFID tags and components.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program management for all Integrated Solutions products (CAIP and APLS processes)
Interacts with customers and suppliers for concept development and advancement as new product opportunities become available
Product design / development responsible
Coordinates with operations and processing for product samples and tryout runs
Develops or contributes to product or component quality & performance specifications
Performs and coordinates product validation testing (DVP&R), develops new testing criteria
Uses various design tools and techniques such as APQP, DFM/A, VA/VE, D/PFMEA, DOE & others
Provides input and assistance to manufacturing engineers for product secondary equipment.
Keeps up-to-date with new RFID technology and products and looks for ways to leverage new technology for continuous improvement (R&D)
Assists with product quoting and works with processing to develop new manufacturing processes as necessary
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 2 -5 years experience
Minimum 2 - 5 years experience in RF design, testing, and calibration
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Windows / Windows Mobile, ability to learn new device communication software for RFID readers and other devices)
Experience with wireless protocol and communications standards (USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI)
Working knowledge of databases (SQL, MS Access)
Working knowledge of Ethernet and WiFi communications
Ability to program, monitor, and specify programming software and logic (VB.NET, , C#, C, Assembly)
Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations, laws and policies
Working knowledge of ISO9001
Experience with embedded electronics
Familiarity with environmental testing: ESD, EMI, RoHS/WEEE, Failure analysis
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree with 5-10 years experience
RF Communications background
Familiarity and/or experience with wireless data platforms (Zigbee, Wifi, RF, etc
)
Experience with Wireless RF analog and digital links
Knowledge of injection molding
