Responsibilities:
. Under minimal supervision, documents elaborated software requirements in the form of test cases and conducts quality assurance activities on software products.
* Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality. Executes functional application and regression tests for a software release.
* Writes clear and precise defect tickets based on testing results.
* Responsible for writing test plans and developing test scripts. Responsible for creating test data; writes test standards and assists in creating new procedures.
* Responsible for creating, maintaining and executing automated QuickTest tests.
. Executes test cases in a methodical and disciplined manner.
* Executes adhoc tests to identify new test cases.
* Effectively communicates with software developers and business analysts.
* Analyzes test results and makes recommendations. Documents results from tests and communicates the results to the QA Lead and Manager. May be required to present status of test results to department managers or executive staff.
* Assists product support with analysis and verification of software defects reported to determine validity and clarification.
* Develops an understanding of the business reasons for the features being tested, including how the users adopt these features and their respective performance requirements.
* Develops a comprehensive, accurate, and broad understanding of the software products being produced and how end-users will use these products.
* Adheres to defined software development process and offers improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years related QA experience; preferably having experience a with Software Product company.
* Solid software testing theory and methodologies.
* Solid working experience in a SQL Server database environment.
* Experience with automated testing using QuickTest.
* Experience with data validation (at the database level as opposed to validation through a UI) should include writing SQL queries against a documented schema, as well as exporting to and manipulating data in other tools (ie Excel, Access, etc).
* Enterprise software product experience (highly preferred).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated problem solving skills.
