Kamehameha Schools' Dormitory Leader Positions Available on Moloka‘i, Kaua‘i and O‘ahu. Deadline to Apply: 2/05/2012.

Education:

Bachelors Degree

Minimum Requirements:

• Over one year to less than two years of related work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Hawaiian culture and history
• Ability to:
- Work effectively with elementary age students in a residential setting
- Use good human relations and communication skills
- Deal with conflict involving staff, students, and parents

Duties:

Activities Development: Develops and delivers Hawaiian cultural activities that are relevant to program and daily themes. This may include, but are not limited to, walking tours, various reflection activities, art, mele, and hula.

Operations: Responsible for the checking in and out of students. Supervise and participates with students in all activities. Assist with the preparation for and delivery of program Hô'ike. Supervise student aide and provide performance feedback. Assist with the implementation of program evaluation plan. Reside in program assigned living space.

Students: Provide counseling, guidance and supervision of students throughout duration of program. Responsible for ensuring a safe environment for students, including overnight hours.

The Dorm Leader position is an over-night position and requires the employee to reside with the program. Shift usually begins at 3:00PM and ends 8:00AM, the next morning. Dinner and breakfast will be provided for, along with lodging accommodations.
